The Nintendo DSi may look like a lovable piece of gaming gadgetry, but behind its wonderful exterior and functional features lie controversies about the propriety of its release. The first feedback about the Nintendo DSi is this : is it necessary? Is it just a step up over prior versions of the system.

First in our list of Nintendo DSi reviews is Business Week mag, which believes the DSi is 'well worth the money', a statement that is tantamount to pronouncing the DSi is something that folk - DS owners and non-DS owners alike - should get. Business Week mag gave the system the fantastic score of 4.5 out of 5.

But of all of the Nintendo DSi reviews available, Business Week mag's carries the least weight. Of course, Business Week mag doesn't specialize in video games.

IGN, one of the web's largest computer game websites, can offer a more correct opinion among the many Nintendo DSi reviews available. IGN gave the DSi a score of 7.8 out of 10, worth considering but not really a 'must buy.' According to IGN, the Nintendo DSi is a 'worthwhile' upgrade to the previously released DS Lite. The biggest problem is the removal of the slot for GBA cartridges, effectively removing backward compatibility from the hand held.

PC World played it safe by saying that the DSi packed some useful upgrades to an already impressive gaming system, and Bit-Tech continued to compliment the heightened functions and features of the Nintendo DSi.

The general view is that the Nintendo DSi definitely brings some excellent new features to an already well established format, it's just up to individual buyers as to whether these features are worth the considerable price tag carried along.

Square left and Nintendo continued the franchise with critically praised installments like Paper Mario : The Thousand Year Door for the Gamecube, Super Paper Mario for the Wii, Mario & Luigi : Superstar story for the GBA, and Mario & Luigi : Partners In Time for Nintendo DS. And the most recent game, Bowser's Inside Story, is expected to be the most remarkable of all of them as the brothers are prepared to go back to their plumbing profession inside Bowser's body. No, really.

3. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Of all of the first party DSi Nintendo games, none have experienced as much business success as the Pokemon series. With a long running anime series, manga series, and toy line based on the franchise, Pokemon has gone beyond being a Nintendo property and has become a cultural icon. With the hand-held games almost always being released in two versions, the following pair is booked to come our way very soon.
